NAYTEA hosted a STEAM Festival for more than 1000 school children in Shenzhen, China on November 27th. Activities ranged from robotics competition, model airplane construction and lots more. Children who participated had the opportunity for a hands-on experience with robots where they learned to remotely control various sensors and to operate the devices through a full range of functions. Teams were formed from children who didn’t know each other, giving them the chance to quickly learn to collaborate under the time constraints of the competition. Plans were announced for NAYTEA to host STEAM festivals each month in public, private, and international schools throughout China in 2020. More than 500 schools and 50,000 students will be involved. This builds upon the recent success of the 2019 International STEAM Curriculum Developer Competition that will culminate in Shanghai in mid-December.
